District of Dobele

Dobele is located approximately 70 km to the southwest of Latvia capital city Riga, on the banks of Berze river, where Eastern Kurzeme height transfers into Zemgale lowland.

City rights were gained by Dobele in year 1917, but Dobele name in writings was already mentioned in year 1254. Territory size - 8 km².
