A song for a Lithuanian is an inborn naturalstate. Every song – both simple and refined – is. Therefore the songs sung at the Song Day are the most varied. The Vingis Park’s stage will sound with the best compositions for choirs of all times – from classical to modern harmonies and contemporary rhythms, archaic folk songs, harmonised according to the canons of the Western European classical harmony, compositions a cappella – the full diversity of songs, inseparable from the origins of the Song Day. Over fourteen thousand singers of different age from 400 choirs will sing as one. Brass orchestras and other performers will accompany the choirs. And certainly the audience will sing along. We all will sing the songs we cherish, the songs we grew up with and we will sing here, where our home is.
